FAQs

Q: What method/style of training do you utilize?

A. I believe in training the dog in front of me. Each and every dog I have trained is different from the next.., what works for some, doesn't work for all. As your trainer, I first focus heavily on the relationship you have with your dog, helping to strengthen and rebuild to a much healthier and happy state. Without that relationship, you have nothing. From there, I believe that dogs should be shown/taught what the expectations are BEFORE making them expectations (adding in punishment). With that being said..yes. I believe in punishment. I believe that for a dog to fully understand what their job is in life alongside of you, is that they need to understand what they should be doing, and what they shouldn't be doing. If you only have one half of that equation, no matter what half it is, you have a very confused dog. And punishment looks different for each and every dog. For some, it could be the removal of the owner or even treats. It could be the use of a correctional collar or it could be the stopping of an activity. It all depends dog to dog!

Q: Do you only train the dog? Or will you train me too?

A. No matter what training program you go with, whether its my board and train program, or in home private lessons, I will ALWAYS, ensure that YOU the owner not only understand what you are doing and how you are doing it, but also that you are confident in handling your dog and continuing on with your dog. YOU (the owner) are a part of the big picture at the end of the day with your dog. It is hardly ever the dog truly being a bad dog..it is the bad owner! So a huge part of my job is that I teach you everything about communicating with, and ultimately just living day to day with your dog.

Q: Where will my dog stay when they board with you for training or if I go away?

A. Everything is done from my personal home. I have a designated dog room where I have both 4x4 kennels with Kuranda beds in them, along with Sky Kennels for those dogs who would do better in a crate. I have a spacious fenced in yard (5 foot fence) and plenty of dog toys to play with.

Q. Do you offer any guarantees after a training program with you?

A. Every dog can be improved in some shape, way, or form; however..it all comes back to you (the owner). As long as you are dedicated, consistent, and follow instruction, the sky is the limit for you and your dog.

I offer lifetime support, so I am always here to support you and your dog, and answer any questions you may have along the way.

All of this being said, it would be unethical for me to offer a 100% guarantee due to the many variables involved to create a well-behaved and balanced dog.
